Congressman Garrett Announces Financial Services Subcommittee Assignments

Yesterday, the House Financial Services Committee announced subcommittee assignments, giving Congressman Scott Garrett seats on the Capital Markets Subcommittee, Financial Institutions Subcommittee and Housing Subcommittee. Congressman Garrett has long been a leader on many of the issues covered by the Financial Services Committee, notably including his push for long-overdue Sarbanes-Oxley reform. Congressman Garrett will also remain a member of the House Budget Committee where he will continue to push for budget reforms that shift focus away from the federal budget and towards the family budget.

Congressman Garrett said, "Many of the issues that come before the Financial Services Committee are the issues that fuel our economic engine, and I'm pleased to be a member of this important committee once again. And, given the large number of Fifth District constituents who work in or are directly affected by the financial services industry, my work on this Committee will have a real impact on the residents and families of North Jersey. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee in order to ensure that our markets and institutions continue to perform at the record-setting pace we have enjoyed for the last few years."
