Langevin Applauds Accomplishments of 100 Hours

Congressman Jim Langevin today marked the successful end of the Democratic 100 Hours legislative agenda. In passing six pieces of vital legislation, the Democrats fulfilled their promise to pass bills reflecting the values and priorities of the American people.

"I am proud of the work we accomplished during the first 100 hours," said Langevin. "The legislation passed during this time, however, is only the beginning. We have set the tone for the rest of the 110th Congress, and I will work tirelessly to achieve more for Rhode Island families."

The House has passed the following items since the start of the 110th Congress:
# Ethics Reform
# Restoring Fiscal Responsibility

100 Hours Legislation
# Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendations
# Increasing the Minimum Wage
# Expanding Stem Cell Research
# Requiring Negotiation for Lower Prescription Drug Costs
# Cutting Interest Rates on Student Loans
# Ending Subsidies for Big Oil and Investing in Renewable Energy
