Hensarling Statement on RSC Election

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (TX-05) today issued the following statement after being elected Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC):

"I would like to congratulate Congressman Todd Tiahrt for running a good race. He is a strong conservative and great asset to the RSC.

"I am humbled by the results of today's election and am honored to be chosen by my colleagues as RSC Chairman of the 110th Congress. The RSC has a deep bench of talented public servants that are committed to the principles of Ronald Reagan and the Contract of America, and each will be essential in developing and communicating our conservative message.

"Working together with our leadership, conservatives will articulate our commitment to our key principles of limited government, individual empowerment, a strong national defense and traditional values to the American people. We will continue the march for liberty and freedom with passion, building a new Republican Majority in the process."
