This is It!

This is it! Election day is here, and the campaign is coming to an end. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support, hard work, and belief in me.

The most important thing right now is that you go to the polls and cast your ballot, and make sure that your friends and family vote as well. After all of our effort and our commitment to making a difference, we want to see a big win on Tuesday night.

Let's remind ourselves of why we are doing this, why we have devoted so much time and effort in this campaign. With a win on election day, we can…

… put a stop to President Bush's ill-advised and unsuccessful policy in Iraq, bring an end to the war, and return our soldiers home safely;

…protect Social Security as an economic safety net for our seniors, and stop the White House plan for privatization;

…defend every women's fundamental right to make reproductive decisions without government interference; and

...repeal the president's tax breaks for America's wealthiest citizens, and instead offer tax relief to our nation's working men and women.

There is a lot that we need to get done, but now it is all up to you. Your vote will help us put our country back on the right track. Your vote will help determine America's future.

This campaign has been a great experience, in large part because of the support and aloha I have felt from so many of you across the 2nd Congressional District and across Hawai‘i. Whatever the outcome on Tuesday, I want to say a deep, heart-felt mahalo to everyone who has played a part in our efforts. You have made a difference by keeping the conversation alive, by continuing to dream of a better America, and by taking action to bring your convictions to life.

Now let's hear what the voters have had to say, and see what the future will bring.
