Press Release - Davis: Crist Will Continue Down Bush's Wrong Path

TAMPA -- Today, Democratic nominee for governor Jim Davis said President Bush has led the country down the wrong path and disagreed with Charlie Crist's vision for staying the course:

"For the last five years, I've been standing up and fighting President Bush on issues important to Floridians and now I am fighting Charlie Crist's promise to continue down the George Bush-led path. I've stood up for Floridians best interests to oppose Bush's plan to drill off our coast, fought Bush's plan to privatize Social Security, and worked to override the president's veto of funding for stem cell research. Today's event makes it clear that as governor, Crist would be on George Bush's side, while I will do what I've been doing for the last 17 years -- standing on the side of Florida's families."

"George Bush has taken our country down the wrong path and Charlie Crist thinks we should maintain that course. I believe we need new, independent leadership in Tallahassee because I think we can do better than we have been on important issues like property insurance, property taxes and education."
