Congressmen Kennedy and Langevin Call for Implementation of the 9/11 Commission's Security Recommendations
Monday, September 11, 2006

East Providence, R.I.-Today, Congressman Patrick Kennedy, along with Congressman James Langevin, Lt. Governor Charles Fogarty and Rep. Raymond Gallison, gathered at the Squantum Club in East Providence to remember and pay tribute to the victims of 9/11 and to call for the implementation of the security recommendations outlined in the 9/11 Commission's report.

Congressman Kennedy welcomed the group and World War II veteran Anthony Lema led the crowd in a moment of silence to commemorate the 5th year anniversary of the September 11th attack.

"Today, we are here to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, a day of unconscionable horror for all Americans, said Kennedy. "A day we all mourned because sons lost mothers -- daughters lost fathers, parents lost their children, and we all lost a sense of security that we will never completely get back. The best way to honor those who lost their lives is to never forget them, and to work to do all we can to make our country as safe as it possibly can be."
