Across The Commonwealth Women Support Rick Santorum www.WomenForRick.com

Blue Bell, PA - U.S. Senators Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) and Rick Santorum (R-PA) criss-crossed the Commonwealth today making stops in Pittsburgh and Suburban Philadelphia bringing Pennsylvania women together to support "Women for Rick."

"I am here today to send the message loud and clear to the women of Pennsylvania 'I am a Woman and I'm for Rick,'" said U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole. "Rick is passionate, honest and a true leader for Pennsylvania especially for women and families. When Rick puts his mind to something, he goes for it with full fervor and commitment, and because of his leadership, Pennsylvanians are seeing more of their tax dollars back in their wallets making it easier for families to make ends meet."

Senator Santorum's tireless work for Pennsylvania has helped cut spending, put more money back in the pockets of hard working families and has helped invest government money more effectively. In the nearly twelve years since Rick Santorum has represented Pennsylvania in the United States Senate, he has been a leader in the ongoing struggle to keep our taxes low - working to reduce the tax burden on working families, supporting the increase of the per-child tax credit, and leading the fight to provide relief from the marriage penalty tax.

"As a mom and a career woman who's committed to finding that balance between family and professional successes, I have always admired Rick for speaking out about why family is so important and pursuing legislation that provides options for women and their families," said Susan Molinari, former Congresswomen from New York. "I've known Rick since we served together in the U.S. House of Representatives, and I have watched first hand the positive impact that Rick's efforts have had not only for the families of Pennsylvania, but for families across America."

According to the U.S. Department of Treasury, more than 4.5 million Pennsylvanians have seen relief from the tax relief that Rick supported in Congress. Furthermore, 104 million individuals and families have seen an average tax cut of $1,040; nearly 43 million married couples saw an average income tax cut of about $1,720; more than 38 million taxpayers with children received an average income tax cut of $1,460 and about 13 million seniors saw their taxes reduced, on average, by $915.

"Women have served as great role models for me. My mother was the primary breadwinner for my family growing up, and my wife Karen is an attorney, nurse and accomplished author. As the father of six wonderful children, I know what it means to juggle things around. I know what it means to run the carpool, pick the kids up at the pool, help with homework and drop them off for sleepovers at their friends houses, all while trying to get to work on time for a meeting or get home in time to have dinner with the family," said Senator Rick Santorum. "And that is exactly why it is more important than ever not only for women, but families to have flexibility and options to succeed."

Santorum was also joined in Pittsburgh by Pennsylvania State Senator Mary Jo White (PA-21); Kathleen Gallagher, a partner at Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott, LLC and Santorum's Southwest Pennsylvania Women's Chair; and Jan Rea, Allegheny County Council Women.

In Blue Bell, Santorum was joined by the following local women leaders: Regina Lowrie, president and founder of Gateway Funding Diversified Mortgage Services, LP, in Horsham, Pennsylvania and Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA); Pat Poprik, owner of a municipal bond business and Santorum reelection chair for Bucks County; Michele Johnson, a pharmaceutical company executive and Santorum reelection chair for Montgomery County; Christine Fizzano Cannon, an attorney and Santorum reelection chair for Delaware County; Paula Gowen a retired school teacher and Santorum reelection chair for Chester County; and Dr. Margaret Hessen of Bryn Mawr who practiced infectious disease medicine for 17 years but closed her practice entirely due to medical liability premiums.
