Veterans Deserve Our Respect By Planning For The Future

Veterans in Eastern Washington received a mixed message Friday with the announcement that Walla Walla's VA Hospital will get a new outpatient facility.

Was it good news for veterans? Certainly the promise of continued services to veterans in the region is helpful. But questions remain.

How and when will the facility be funded and built? What about services other than outpatient care?

We know that the number of veterans seeking medical and psychiatric services is only going to increase. If we can find the funding to send our sons and daughters to war, we need to find the funding to care for them when they return.

I will work to restore and restaff the intensive care and emergency units at the Walla Walla VA. And I will work to appoint an independent administrator to assure full functionality.

You can help me see these goals become a reality by sharing your concerns with friends, by writing to your editor, by voting for me, and by contributing to my campaign. Together we can work to build a brighter future for Eastern Washington.
