Speaker Hastert Statement on House Resolution Condemning Terrorist Attacks in India

House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) today released the following statement after passage of H.Res. 911, a resolution condemning in the strongest possible terms the July 11, 2006, terrorist attacks in India and expressing condolences to the families of the victims and sympathy to the people of India.

"America has been struck repeatedly, and these brutal attacks on our friend and ally India reminded us that we are not alone in our global fight against terrorism. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones affected by this tragedy. This Global War is about protecting freedom and democracy both hear and abroad. House Republicans will not be shaken in our resolve to work with our allies to defeat our common enemy and win the Global War on Terror."
