Santorum "Keeps Up the Fight" for Law Enforcement Officers Across the Commonwealth.

Pittsburgh, PA - With an overwhelming majority, today U.S. Senator Rick Santorum honorably accepted the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police at their 39th Biennial Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police State Convention at the Westin Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

"I am honored to accept the endorsement of the PA FOP, and I will 'Keep Up the Fight' for Pennsylvania law enforcement officers who stand with me protecting the rule of law. I will continue to be accountable, and I will keep my promise to tell you where I stand on the issues because I believe that it is my responsibility." said Senator Rick Santorum. "I am pleased that the 40,000 members of the PA FOP understand that granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is breaking the law. My opponent Bobby Casey, Jr. would grant amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants -- nearly the population of the entire Commonwealth -- that would result in fleecing Social Security, would grant tax forgiveness for illegal immigrants and would put illegal immigrants in line for citizenship."

The Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police is the Commonwealth's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with 40,000 members statewide. The PA FOP is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities, and is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation.

"Sen. Santorum has been a tremendous leader for the people of Pennsylvania and has fought hard for our law enforcement community," said Mark Koch, Fraternal Order of Police Pennsylvania State Lodge President. "When law enforcement has needed Sen. Santorum, he always been there to help. The state FOP is ready to do all it can to see that he returns to Washington to keep fighting for 12 million Pennsylvanians and all Americans. His high-ranking in the Senate majority party ensures he will be able to deliver on the promises he makes."

Since arriving in the Senate in 1995, Santorum has continuously supported law enforcement officers and initiatives. Santorum has delivered on the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004. Santorum has delivered $2.5 million to the Route 222 Corridor in an Anti-Gang Initiative awarded to combat the growing criminal activity as a result of illegal immigration. Santorum had delivered and continues to work hard to ensure that law enforcement officers' retirement specifically pensions and social security are protected with the Pension Reform Bill. Most recently Santorum has delivered on the Adam Walsh Child Protection Safety Act and School SAFE Act which will keep our kids safe at school and safe from internet predators.

Earlier in the week, Santorum also accepted the endorsement of the National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition, which unanimously voted to endorse Senator Rick Santorum's bid for re-election. The Coalition is comprised of nearly 100 veterans groups and veteran's advocacy groups representing more than 300,000 veterans and family members.
