We will prevail in the Global War on Terror

- Today the House of Representatives debated H. Res. 861; Declaring that the United States will prevail in the Global War on Terror, the struggle to protect freedom from the terrorist adversary. Congressman Richard W. Pombo (R-Tracy) released the following statement of support.

"America understands the threat that terrorists wield; but we shall stand strong and resolute to prevail against the fear they sow. We must be steadfast in our resolve, and America should not yield until the mission is done. Recent developments in Iraq have brought renewed hope; from the establishment of the democratically elected Iraqi government to the killing of Zarqawi, the leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq. The young men and women of our Armed Forces have performed exceptionally well, under the most difficult conditions, and we owe it to them to see their mission through to a successful completion."
