WICKER: 2007 DEFENSE BILL HAS FUNDS FOR MISSISSIPPI PROJECTS

The U. S. House of Representatives has approved a defense spending bill that contains funding for wide-ranging projects in Mississippi, Rep. Roger Wicker said Tuesday.

The Congressman, who serves on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, said the 2007 Department of Defense Appropriations Act includes money for programs and research activities at private sector firms and universities in Mississippi.

"The bill contains resources to support the men and women in uniform and keep our military the strongest in the world," Rep. Wicker said. "We were also fortunate to include funding for key private-sector and university initiatives in Mississippi that will help strengthen our national defense."
