Lucas Responds To Bush Visit
COVINGTONKen Lucas will be touring the 4th Congressional District on Friday to meet with voters while President Bush is raising money for Geoff Davis by charging thousands of dollars for a presidential photo opportunity.
"Geoff Davis continues to rely on others to carry his campaign. I hope the President can at least persuade Geoff to return his tainted campaign funds," said Jim Creevy, Lucas' campaign manager. "We're going to make sure folks know that Davis has a record of rabid partisanship, taking money from convicted felons, and inaction on the issues that voters care about. He's defending the status quo in Washington. Ken Lucas will change it."
Meanwhile, Ken Lucas' supporters are hosting a rally for him from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Tickets Sports Café in Covington. Lucas is pleased with the amount of enthusiasm he has seen since supporters encouraged him to enter the race.
"It seems like everywhere you turn these days all we are hearing from Washington, D.C. is partisan fights, charges of corruption, and a lack of compromise," Lucas said.
"I'm sorry to say that Geoff Davis has been a part of that culture and hasn't worked to change things. To me, this election and my campaign will be about taking Kentucky values to Washington again. And that means commonsense, fairness, and working together."
