I have been working to closely monitor the wildfireand drought situation that current engulfs North Texas. Below is some general information concerning official disaster declarations for the 26th Congressional District of Texas which specifically encompasses Cooke, Denton and Tarrant Counties.

On January 4, 2006, I signed onto a letter of support for Governor Rick Perry's emergency declaration request for the State of Texas in response to the devastating fires occurring across the state.

On January 11, 2006, I sent a letter to President George Bush urging him to review the status of emergency declaration for the State of Texas concerning the wildfires. (See attached files.)"
