REP. ROB ANDREWS RESPONDS TO IRANIAN PRESIDENT'S CLAIM THAT ISRAEL IS A FAKE REGIME

The Iranian president's statement is outrageous and serves as the latest in a long string of warnings signs that the current regime is a grave threat to not only to the security of Israel and the United States, but to the entire world. Israel is the region's only democracy and the only government that legitimately represents the will of its citizens.

We cannot allow Iran's nuclear ambitions to succeed. That is why I have proposed an international gasoline embargo against Iran. Iran imports 40 percent of its refined gasoline to keep prices at home artificially low. An embargo would impose serious economic and diplomatic penalties on Iran that the current regime cannot ignore if it hopes to remain in power.
