Congratulating Trine University's Men's Basketball Team for Winning the Ncaa Division III Championship

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

Mr. BANKS. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to congratulate Trine University's men's basketball team for winning the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship.

Trine clinched their 69-61 victory over the top ranked Hampden-Sydney College in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in front of a record crowd. 4,546 spectators witnessed the Thunder become national champions in their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

This season, Trine has reminded Hoosiers why we love the game of basketball. They have exhibited all the traits that make the game so compelling. Not only have they excited and entertained their audiences in Northeast Indiana and beyond, but their dedication, hard work, and will to win have inspired them.

I commend each player and coach for reaching the pinnacle of success in their division. I know they will continue to grow and achieve, both on and off the court, with the great support of their community behind them.
