"Fentanyl is wrecking communities and destroying families. It's past time we stop drug trafficking at our southern border, address other critical border problems, and keep our country safe. That's why Democrats have been engaged in good-faith negotiations with Republicans to create a bipartisan bill that will address the problems at the border directly as well as other critical national security issues. The good news is we accomplished that goal.

But, stunningly, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans blew up this important agreement this week because they decided that fixing our problems at the border hurts their campaigns.

It's no wonder that people are frustrated and angry. I am too. In our democracy, we need to be able to work together, keep our word, and solve important problems. That's what the American people deserve."
