"Americans rely on the CDC’s scientific expertise to safeguard our health. During today’s meeting with Director Cohen, we discussed several priorities to promote public health and safety, particularly among our children. Some of these priorities include addressing Big Tobacco’s efforts to addict children to nicotine; gun violence in our communities, now the leading cause of death among our youth; and youth oral health, which is in dire need of attention. We also discussed the ongoing flooding in Cahokia Heights, and ways Congress can work with CDC to ensure residents get the answers they deserve."
