"The current situation at our southern border is chaos. I've seen it firsthand, and I hear about it from West Virginians back home consistently. Make no mistake: this catastrophe is entirely of President Biden's making. President Biden has the power to get our border under control by simply following the laws that are already in place. I thank Senator Lankford for his tireless efforts with members within our conference and across the aisle to craft the border portion of the national security supplemental. However, based on the overwhelming feedback I've received from West Virginians who have conveyed their concerns, I am unable to vote to advance this bill. This vote does not end our need to work toward efforts to secure our border, as well as the important national security interests within this supplemental."
