BREAKING: Following Pressure from Chairman Bost, VA Takes Action Against Sexual Harassers

Press Release

Date: Nov. 15, 2023
Location: Washington, DC

"After 47 days of silence from the Biden administration, I am glad to see that because of the Committee's work, action is finally being taken against the individuals in question following allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct within VA's ORMDI office. This is without question the right decision. However, what's even more troubling to me is that these brave women -- victims of alleged harassment -- felt that they had to come to Congress in order for action to be taken. This reaffirms to me that VA's system of accountability is broken, and we need my Restore VA Accountability Act now more than ever. Whether it's sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, or opioid stealing -- people who have been proven to commit these acts have absolutely no business working at VA and serving America's veterans. I look forward to the Secretary's response to my letters and expect he will conduct his internal investigation swiftly and hold those at fault accountable."
