Statement

"Mike Johnson is a tried-and-true conservative. He has a proven record of unifying Members and fighting for Republican priorities. I am confident he will continue our success in the Majority, fulfill our commitment to rein in spending, and put a stop to government waste and overreach. He is a good man and will be a great Speaker.

Now that we have elected a Speaker, we must refocus our attention on passing our Fiscal Year 2024 bills -- the most conservative appropriations bills in history. With the next funding deadline just weeks away, we have no time to waste.

I look forward to working with Speaker Johnson and Members of the Conference to cut wasteful spending, fund our military and veterans, and secure our border. We owe that to the American people."
