BROWN STATEMENT ON UAW'S TENTATIVE AGREEMENT WITH GM

Statement

"American autoworkers have been underestimated time and again -- from politicians who wanted to let their industry go bankrupt, to companies that thought they could keep workers from sharing in their record profits. Like all strikes, this was always a last resort. Workers in Ohio and across the country never gave up, and because of their tenacity and solidarity, they have now won tentative agreements with all the Big Three automakers. I'm specifically glad to see that GM has finally agreed to include Ultium workers in the master agreement -- something we have fought hard for in Ohio and that will mean the EV jobs of the future will be good-paying union jobs.

Now it's up to Ohio workers to review these offers, and -- as they should -- workers will have the final say."
