Statement from Governor Murphy on the U.S. Supreme Court Undermining Civil Rights for the LGBTQIA+ Community and Others

Statement

"This is a bad week for equality. Along with a pair of decisions making higher education less accessible, the U.S. Supreme Court has also made it easier for businesses to discriminate against the LGBTQIA+ community. Today's ruling represents a significant setback to the rights many people have fought so courageously for throughout the years.

I strongly condemn this senseless and reprehensible decision, which also opens the door to discrimination against the civil rights of women, people of color, people with disabilities, and people of various faiths. We will never stop working to ensure true equality for all New Jerseyans, including every LGBTQIA+ person who calls our state home."
