Neal Statement on December 2022 Jobs Report

Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) December 2022 jobs report:

"President Biden and Congressional Democrats have now led the strongest two years of job growth on record. The December jobs report is the latest evidence that our economic agenda not only propelled us from the depths of the pandemic, but continues to make way for a record-breaking recovery. Last month brought sustainable gains and steady wage growth, while the unemployment rate fell to its lowest point in 50 years. As I've been saying, never bet against the American worker.

"Republican chaos threatens our progress, and their infighting must come to an end before they spook employers and send unnecessary ripple effects through our job market."
