McHenry Votes NO on the Democrats' Partisan Bill to Fund Their Far-Left Agenda

Statement

Date: Aug. 12, 2022

Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement on the passage of the partisan and reckless reconciliation bill drafted by Congressional Democrats, the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5376 -- Inflation, Recession, and IRS Army Act:

"Today, House Democrats voted to raise taxes on hardworking Americans to fund their far-left agenda--all under the guise of so-called "inflation reduction.' Non-partisan analyses from the Congressional Budget Office and the Penn-Wharton Budget Model found this bill will not meaningfully lower inflation. Additionally, this radical legislation will weaponize the IRS with 87,000 new agents to nickel and dime middle-class families. I'm proud to stand up for American taxpayers and vote NO on Democrats' tax-and-spend scheme."
