Issues: Marijuana

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) commended President Biden for pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession.

"President Biden took action today and is giving thousands of Americans their lives back," said Larson. "I voted earlier this year to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level and invest revenue in disproportionately impacted communities, but this legislation was stalled in the Senate. Today's action by the President is another step forward to fix decades of injustice."

In April of this year, Rep. Larson voted for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, which would decriminalize cannabis at the federal level, expunge the records of those harmed by cannabis criminalization, and create opportunities for all to participate in the legal cannabis industry.
