Congressman Biggs Introduces Legislation to Help States Bypass Biden's Open Borders Policies

Press Release

Date: Oct. 14, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced the State Immigration Enforcement Act. This legislation allows states and localities to pass and enforce laws that mirror federal immigration laws. The Biden Administration has virtually stopped immigration enforcement--allowing deportable aliens to remain in the country and incentivizing illegal aliens to enter the country.

"Congress must authorize states to act because the Biden Administration has refused to enforce our nation's federal immigration laws amid a historic invasion," said Congressman Andy Biggs. "On Day One, the Biden Administration began issuing directives to stop nearly every border security and immigration enforcement tool in order to implement its radical open borders agenda. The result has led to an unprecedented crisis at our border.

"My legislation provides the explicit congressional authorization that the Supreme Court in Arizona v. U.S. said was necessary for state and local governments to act. My bill will allow states to bypass the Biden Administration's America last open border policies and restore the rule of law."
