Location: Washington, DC

On Wednesday, Congressman Lance Gooden (R-Texas) questioned the CEOs of Citibank, Wells Fargo, PNC, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Truist and demanded they condemn the ongoing human rights atrocities being committed against the Uyghur minority in China.

During his exchange with Citigroup CEO, Jane Fraser, he demanded she condemn the ongoing human rights abuses in communist China. Ms. Fraser refused to specifically condemn China and instead stated, "condemn is a very strong word."

Rep. Gooden responded, "Yes, it is and so is genocide and slavery." He continued, "[Big banks are] so willing to come down to Washington and insert yourself into politics, yet you seem hesitant to condemn...slavery and genocide. It is alarming to me."
