Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a U.S. Army veteran, just issued the following statement following the successful U.S. strike against al-Qaeda Leader Ayman al-Zawahiri:

"The world is a far safer place without al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. His death is a powerful win for the United States, our allies, and all those who oppose the rampant evils and atrocities of al-Qaeda. I'm as grateful as ever for our military and intelligence professionals who planned and executed this successful strike."
