Rep. Zeldin Statement on Economy Plunging Into Recession

Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Financial Services Committee, just issued the following statement on the second quarter 2022 gross domestic product (GDP) report, which showed negative economic growth for the second straight quarter:

"Democrats' massive spending, over regulating policies are fueling a massive drive of our economy into recession, skyrocketing inflation to four-decade highs and wreaking havoc on Americans' personal finances. Now, they are attempting to jam through yet another multi hundred-billion-dollar spending plan on far-left priorities that will raise taxes on job creators when Americans can least afford it. One-party Democrat rule in Washington has become an economic burden that American families cannot afford."
