BROWN APPLAUDS TENTATIVE AGREEMENT TO AVERT RAILROAD STRIKE

Press Release

Date: Sept. 15, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Labor Unions

Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), released the following statement applauding the tentative agreement that would avoid a railroad strike.

"Thanks to the round the clock work of President Biden, Secretary Walsh, the unions, and the rail carriers, a tentative agreement has been met that will avoid a strike and deliver improved working conditions for rail workers while ensuring the rail companies can retain and recruit more workers. If the agreement is ratified, this will help provide the predictability Ohio farmers and manufacture need as they feed the world and rebuild supply chains. This is the kind of outcome, for both businesses and workers, that is only possible when we have a government that respects unions and the collective voice of workers.
