Rep. Tracey Mann votes against Democrat so-called Inflation "Reduction" Act

Statement

Date: Aug. 12, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) released the following statement following his vote against H.R. 5376, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022:

"Today, I voted 'NO' on the so-called Inflation "Reduction" Act. Due to the highest level of inflation in over 40 years, Americans are struggling to pay for everyday items such as gas and groceries in the same week. On top of these price hikes, the supply chain remains broken, and the economy is shrinking. In the midst of an economic crisis, we need real leadership from Congress, which means careful stewardship of tax dollars and workable solutions to the problems plaguing our country. Instead, Washington Democrats and the Biden Administration have rammed through legislation to raise taxes and burn through $770 billion.

Make no mistake: this bill is nothing short of a partisan wish list, chock full of reckless provisions that will increase audits on small businesses and middle-class families, expand the ridiculous war on fossil fuels and fund Green New Deal priorities, and add more fuel to the inflation fire."
