Governor Hutchinson Appoints Elizabeth Skinner as Arkansas County District Court Judge

Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced his appointment of Elizabeth Skinner of Stuttgart as the District Judge for the Arkansas County District Court-Northern District. Skinner will replace the late Judge Jeremy Bueker.

Skinner's term will begin October 1, 2022 and will expire December 31, 2024.

"It is an honor to be appointed to fill the remainder of Judge Bueker's term," Skinner said. "I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Stuttgart and Arkansas County in this new role. I am thankful for the Governor's consideration, appointment, and confidence in me to fulfill these duties."

Elizabeth Skinner grew up in South Arkansas County as part of a farm family and graduated from DeWitt High School. She then furthered her education at Hendrix College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 2000. Following college, she attended the University of Arkansas School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate. She has worked as a corporate attorney, defense attorney, and regularly works in real estate, agricultural law, and estate planning. Most recently she has served as Deputy Prosecutor for the 11th East Judicial District and City Attorney for the City of Stuttgart, Arkansas. Elizabeth has two children who are currently students at Stuttgart High School. Elizabeth is also involved in supporting community programs such as Stuttgart Gloves Not Guns, Prevention Education Programs, and St. John's Lutheran School.
