Press Release

Date: July 29, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Guns

U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) today opposed H.R. 1808, which passed the House of Representatives with a vote of 217-213. This bill would ban some of the most popular firearms and magazines among law-abiding gun owners.

"Crime rates have spiked because of the left's policies, and taking guns from law-abiding citizens only makes our nation more dangerous," Scott said. "It is ridiculous that Democrats are coming after our Second Amendment rights amid record inflation and a recession. They clearly have no idea how to govern."

H.R. 1808 violates our Second Amendment rights and previous Supreme Court rulings by banning some of the most popular firearms and magazines owned by law-abiding Americans across the country.
