Press Release

Date: Aug. 22, 2022
Location: Cleveland, Ohio

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the below statement following the Columbus Education Association's vote to go on strike.

"It's unacceptable that our students cannot go to class. Columbus teachers are standing up for our students -- for small class sizes, for enriching the education curriculum, and for basic, functioning school buildings. I urge Columbus City Schools to return to the negotiating table, and stay there until our children are back in the classroom with their permanent teachers."
