Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for H.R. 8373, The Right to Contraception Act, to guarantee the right to obtain and use birth control as established in Griswold v Connecticut, including oral contraception, emergency contraception, and IUDs.

"It's a frightening time for our country since the Supreme Court took the right to an abortion away and called into question other American freedoms," said Larson. "Earlier this week, I voted to protect the right to marry whomever you choose, no matter your sex or race, and today, I proudly voted to federally protect the right to contraception.

"Americans had thought their rights to these things had been protected, but this radical Supreme Court and Republican-led states are showing otherwise," Larson continued. "I will continue to defend these freedoms and urge my Senate counterparts to pass these protections and ensure the filibuster does not stand in the way."
