Ranking Member Bost's Statement on Senate Confirmation of VA Under Secretary for Health

Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Dr. Shereef Elnahal to serve as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Under Secretary for Health:

"I am glad to see the Senate confirm Dr. Shereef Elnahal to serve as VA's Under Secretary for Health. Dr. Elnahal's position is a vitally important one, particularly as the VA health care system prepares to care for millions more toxic-exposed veterans under the PACT Act and the new electronic health record rollout continues to disappoint," said Ranking Member Bost. "Dr. Elnahal has his work cut out for him, and I look forward to working with him to ensure that veterans get the health care they have earned when they need it and where they want it, without having to wait too long or travel too far."
