Boozman, Cotton Introduce Legislation Blocking Biden-Backed Censorship

Press Release

Date: May 3, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) is defending freedom of speech and leading legislative efforts to fight the Biden administration's attempts to censor Americans for their political views. Boozman joined Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) to introduce legislation blocking federal funds from being used to establish a Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security.

"This is an outrageous attack on freedom of speech by the Biden administration that should raise alarms for all Americans. Policing and controlling what we say is un-American and unconstitutional. Blocking taxpayer dollars from being used to develop this Big Brother censorship tool is common sense and imperative," Boozman said.

Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rick Scott (R-FL), Jim Risch (R-ID), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Mike Lee (R-UT), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Mike Braun (R-IN), John Kennedy (R-LA), Todd Young (R-IN), James Lankford (R-OK) and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) are also cosponsors.
