Today, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) announced that Shil Patel will be replacing Ted Lehman as his chief of staff and Corey Brown Weber will be his new legislative director.

Shil Patel most recently served as legislative director for Senator Tillis and also previously served as his chief economic advisor. He started his career working for Northern Trust Bank in Chicago and then worked for the Banking Supervision and Regulation Division of the Federal Reserve. He has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Corey Brown Weber, a North Carolina native, most recently served as Senator Tillis' general counsel and led the Senator's policy portfolio on agriculture, energy, and environmental issues, as well as federal policies related to North Carolina's natural disaster response and recovery efforts. She previously worked at the National Pork Producers Council as domestic policy counsel. She has her undergraduate and law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

"Shil has long been one of my most trusted advisors and has played a crucial role in a number of legislative wins for North Carolina over the years," said Senator Tillis. "As my new chief of staff, Shil brings a wealth of policy and Senate expertise. He is exceptionally well respected by his colleagues and anyone who has had the privilege to work with him. His determined work ethic will be vital as we offer solutions to turn our economy around and move America in a new, more prosperous direction."

"For the last 5 years, Ted Lehman has served with distinction as my Chief of Staff," said Senator Tillis. "He has been my most senior and trusted advisor, on issues big and small, that matter to North Carolina and America. His service in my office caps off a career in the Senate that began over 20 years ago with Senator Hatch on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and later for both Senators Sessions and Grassley on the same committee. I thank him for his service and friendship, and look forward to seeing him succeed in his next endeavor."

"Very few people understand and appreciate the unique priorities of North Carolina as well as Corey," said Senator Tillis. "She will do a fantastic job leading our legislative portfolio and focusing on the many challenges before us, from tackling skyrocketing inflation and energy prices to ensuring the critical needs of rural North Carolina are being addressed in the halls of Congress."
