Sens. Marshall, Moran Announce $5.1 Million in Grants for Garden City, Concordia Airports

Today, U.S. Senators Roger Marshall, M.D. and Jerry Moran announced over $5.1 million in grant money has been awarded to two Kansas airports. Garden City Regional Airport received $4,553,575 and Blosser Municipal Airport received $600,000.

"I'm proud to announce these two grants for the airports in Garden City and Concordia that will help keep Kansans on the move and grow our rural economies," said Senator Marshall.

"Local airports help bring economic opportunities and critical resources to communities across Kansas," said Senator Moran. "These grants are an investment in our communities and will help connect Kansans with the rest of the country and the world."

Background:

These grants were awarded through the Airport Improvement Program, which is used to fund a variety of projects such as construction of new and improved airport facilities, repairs to runways and taxiways, maintenance of airfield elements like lighting or signage, and purchasing equipment needed to operate and maintain airports.
