Rep. Crawford Says President Not Faithfully Executing Immigration Laws

Statement

Date: April 4, 2022
Location: Washington
Issues: Immigration

As President Biden prepares to cancel the last policy that restrained the Democrats' open borders extremism, Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01) is pushing back.

"President Biden should enforce our border and immigration laws, as he took an oath to do," Rep. Crawford said. "His refusal to faithfully execute our laws is unprecedented and dangerous. We've never had a president this reckless."

The President is expected to end a COVID-era health restriction (Title 42) this month that enabled officers of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to quickly expel illegal entrants at our southern border. Meanwhile, the Biden Administration has eviscerated immigration enforcement within the nation and at the border, which has led to a record two million border encounters with illegal entrants in 2021. This latest open borders policy change is expected to cause another record influx, blowing past 2021's figure.

"The removal of Title 42 at the border will increase the surge of illegal immigrants into our nation," Crawford continued, "a surge that will bring with it more drug smugglers and human traffickers. It's time the President acted in the best interest of Americans, rather than of the Democrat party."
