Statement

Date: Feb. 3, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Washington, D.C. - Earlier today, Congressman Pat Fallon (TX-04) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Mayorkas regarding the continued catastrophe at our southern border.

The Congressman specifically addressed the reported transportation of illegal immigrants from Brownsville, Texas to cities all over the United States. He did so by asking the following questions:

1. Why is DHS actively sabotaging the court ordered enforcement of the "Remain in Mexico" policy and the entirety of the Trump-era Title 42 policies?

2. What role did DHS have in the facilitating the release in Brownsville, Texas?

3. Why are you pushing policies across DHS that will reward and encourage illegal migration into the United States?

Congressman Fallon issued the following statement:

"The catastrophe at our southern border is currently one of the greatest threats to American national security. The recent reports of secret flights transporting illegal immigrants all over this country is deeply concerning. It is crucial that we not only understand DHS's involvement in this situation, but also that we know what is being done to prevent it moving forward.

I look forward to the Secretary's response."
