Larson Demands Senate Action on Gun Violence

Statement

Date: May 15, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Guns

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement in response to the mass shooting in Buffalo, NY.

"My heart goes out to the victims and their families after this tragic, hate-filled shooting," said Larson. "This shooting is another example of someone going into a community that is not their own and using a firearm in an act of domestic terrorism.

"Enough is enough. The American people want action. The House has done the work and passed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and the Enhanced Background Checks Act. Meanwhile, the Senate has blocked these bills and almost 400 more passed by the House. It's time the Senate heed the call from Sandy Hook families and victims of these tragedies across the country. It's time politicians let the American people know where they stand. It's time for them to uphold their oath of office and vote," Larson continued.
