Today, the House of Representatives passed the Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act (H.R. 6968) with Rep. John B. Larson's (CT-01) support.

"Putin must be held accountable for his abhorrent and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. Thousands of people have died as a result of the Russian invasion, including at least 27 children. The United States stands with Ukraine, and I am committed to doing everything we can to hold Putin and Russia accountable for this heinous invasion. I voted for the Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act, which includes strong and unprecedented measures to financially isolate Russia, bar them from funding their war, and punish Putin and his allies," said Larson.

Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act will:

Ban the import of Russian oil and energy products.
Take steps to review Russia's access to the World Trade Organization and explore ways to further diminish Russia in the global economy.
Reauthorize and strengthen sanctions from the 2012 Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act, allowing the United States to impose further sanctions on Russia for human rights abuses.
