Walberg: Biden Bears Responsibility for Sky-High Gas Prices

Issues: Oil and Gas

Today, the Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing with executives of six oil and gas companies. During the hearing, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) highlighted President Biden's self-inflicted energy crisis and the impact skyrocketing costs are having on families in Michigan and across the country.

"As hardworking families struggle with sky-high gas prices, Democrats are doing everything possible to shift blame away from their anti-energy agenda. Let's be clear: President Biden bears the brunt of the responsibility for soaring prices at the pump," said Walberg. "Ever since he terminated the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office, President Biden has obstructed American energy development and production. It was particularly disappointing that Energy Secretary Granholm did not appear at today's hearing to answer for the Administration's failed policies that have gotten us to this point. America was energy independent just a few short years ago, and it is time for the Biden Administration to unlock our nation's full energy potential to bring down costs and strengthen our economic and national security."
