Today, U.S. Congressman Kurt Schrader (OR-05) visited Providence Milwaukie Hospital to celebrate $800,000 in community project funding he secured in the government spending package to help address the growing number of seniors experiencing housing insecurity in Clackamas County.

The federal funding will support Providence Milwaukie House, a 72-unit housing project that will serve low-income seniors in need of housing and health care related supportive services.

"I was proud to champion this project for my district, and it was an honor to meet with leaders, staff, and residents of Providence Milwaukie Hospital to see first-hand how this will help support seniors in Clackamas County," Rep Schrader said. "With this federal funding, we now have the resources necessary to get this critically important community project across the finish line."

"Providence appreciates Rep. Schrader's ongoing partnership and attention to serving at-risk seniors in Clackamas County," William Olson, interim chief executive, Providence -- Oregon said. "Today's discussion calls attention to the growing number of seniors experiencing housing insecurity, and our shared commitment to support the health and housing needs of this vulnerable population. The 72-unit supportive housing project on the Providence Milwaukie Hospital campus will make a meaningful impact that would not be possible without the Congressman's support."
