Reed Highlights Clean Water Infrastructure Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill

Today, Tom Reed visited the Village of Waterloo to highlight clean water infrastructure funding under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

"We were proud to support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill because of the important investments it made in our community and in our country," Reed said. "Clean water infrastructure is another example of how this bill has a positive, lasting impact on the health and well-being of our residents."

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill invests $1.2 Trillion in our communities. Under the bill, New York State is eligible for $170 Billion which includes: $90 billion in funding for Clean Water Infrastructure.

Environmental Protection Agency State Revolving Funds for Fiscal Year 2022 includes a total of $428,072,000 for New York State (3rd most behind California and Texas). Broken down by investments:

NYS Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (DWSRF) = $73,327,000
NYS DWSRF Lead Service Line Replacement = $115,475,000
NYS DWSRF Emerging Contaminants = $30,793,000
NYS Clean Water State Revolving Funds = $198,074,000
NYS Clean Water State Revolving Funds Emerging Contaminants = $10,403,000
In addition to Clean Water Infrastructure, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill invests billions in New York for other infrastructure needs including:

$13.5 billion for roads and bridges
$685 million for airports
$11.2 billion to improve public transportation options
$58 billion for rail
$100 million for broadband access
