Rosen Pledges to Continue Fighting to Protect Reproductive Rights After Senate Vote on Women's Health Protection Act

Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), voted to advance debate on the Women's Health Protection Act, which she co-sponsored last year. This legislation would effectively codify Roe v. Wade, protecting the right to access reproductive health care and safeguarding against dangerous state-level abortion bans and restrictions. The Senate failed to invoke cloture on the motion to take up this bill.

"Women's reproductive rights across this country are under attack as Republican state legislatures pass dangerous anti-choice laws and the Supreme Court threatens to roll back Roe v. Wade. I voted today to pass the Women's Health Protection Act to stop those attacks and protect reproductive freedom," said Senator Rosen. "While the Senate failed to advance this important piece of legislation, I will continue fighting to protect reproductive rights and make sure women in Nevada and across the country have access to the health care they need."

Last year, Senator Rosen signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to uphold Roe v. Wade.
