"Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is extremely qualified to serve on the Supreme Court. After hearing from her directly, I am even more proud to support her historic nomination," said Heinrich. "She brings a strong record of experience serving as a judge on the federal bench and practicing law in the criminal justice system. I take my constitutional duty to consider Supreme Court nominees very seriously, and it was important to hear directly from Judge Jackson about the evenhanded and fair way that she approaches legal decisions. We also discussed her approach to issues impacting New Mexico and the West, including water law and Tribal sovereignty."

"I hope all of my colleagues in the Senate will join me in working to swiftly confirm her as our next Supreme Court Justice," Heinrich continued.
