Quigley Statement on Retirement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement after Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement:

"I join the entire American public in thanking Associate Justice Breyer for his twenty-seven years of service on the Supreme Court and his many decades of service to our country. He has served our nation with integrity and unflagging optimism. I congratulate him on a well-earned retirement and wish him all the best during this new chapter.

"I look forward to learning who President Biden will nominate to fill this seat and, hopefully, seeing the first African American woman in our history confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Supreme Court."
